The Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging, and assisting customers. Responsibilities include processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently; understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system; handling various tenders; adhering to cash handling policies; understanding sale restrictions; reporting discrepancies; following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons; staying current with advertisements; adhering to food safety regulations; reinforcing safety programs; creating a welcoming environment; and complying with all relevant laws and guidelines. Must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
