Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

1. Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
2. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
3. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system; handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
4. Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
5. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
6. Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
7. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
8. Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
9. Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
10. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
11. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
12. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
13. Follow all laws and company policies.
14. Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
15. Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
16. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
17. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
18. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
19. Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
