Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

1. Be visible, greet, engage, and assist customers as a cashier/checker.
2. Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
3. Understand POS systems and handle various tenders and transactions according to policy.
4. Adhere to company cash handling and sale restrictions, and work to control loss.
5. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
6. Report pricing discrepancies.
7. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
8. Stay current with ads and promotions.
9. Comply with food safety regulations.
10. Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs.
11. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
12. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
13. Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
14. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
15. Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively.
16. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
17. Follow directions and seek help when needed.
18. Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
19. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
