Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle various tenders, and adhere to company policies regarding transactions.
• Follow guidelines on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
• Adhere to restrictions on sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Promote safety by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting issues.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions and providing support.
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
