Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Cashier to join our school food service program at Elk Point-Jefferson School District. You will operate the POS, handle cash, serve meals, and help keep service smooth during the 11am–1pm window.

Ideal candidates enjoy working with students and staff, have strong communication, basic computer skills, and a positive attitude. The role requires dependability, the ability to stand for extended periods, and light lifting.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system to process student transactions and manage account balances.
• Keep your station stocked and ready while serving meals and a la carte items.
• Follow cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions accurately.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to students, staff, and customers.
• Assist with set-up and clean-up before and after meal service.
• Support food safety standards and complete basic logs or records as needed.
• Communicate with your team about inventory, customer feedback, or account concerns.
• Jump in where needed—help with stocking or basic kitchen tasks.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 11am-1pm

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Cashier to join our school food service program. In this role, you’ll help create a positive experience for students by providing friendly, efficient service while managing transactions and supporting smooth daily meal service. It’s a great role for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a supportive team.

What You’ll Do

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process student transactions and manage account balances

Keep your station stocked and ready while helping serve meals and a la carte items during service

Follow cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions accurately

Provide friendly, respectful service to students, staff, and customers, helping create a welcoming environment.

Assist with set‑up and clean‑up before and after meal service

Support food safety standards and complete basic logs or records as needed

Communicate with your team and supervisors about inventory, customer feedback, or account concerns

Jump in where needed—help with stocking, basic kitchen tasks, or supporting teammates

What You Bring

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to work independently while staying connected to your team.

Dependability, integrity, and attention to detail.

Basic computer skills and comfort using a POS system.

Cash handling experience preferred.

Ability to stand for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.
