Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle various tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons), and follow company policies.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to prevent loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and adhere to policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Identify unsafe conditions or accidents and notify management.
  • Perform equipment inspections and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
