Job Responsibilities
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the checkout lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders like cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Manage postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to policies.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering product questions.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support customers with special needs, including minors and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
