Job summary

Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska is hiring Cashiers to join a friendly, fast-paced team. As a Cashier you will welcome guests, process purchases, and answer questions to ensure a smooth, welcoming experience.

You will handle cash accurately, stand for long periods, and work on a busy resort floor. A high school diploma or GED and the ability to obtain a Food Handler Card are required, with benefits including insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to handle cash accurately.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and workplace information.
• Must obtain Food Handler Card within introductory period.

We’re looking for Cashiers to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska.

What You’ll Do

As a Cashier, you’ll be an important part of the guest experience, providing friendly service while accurately processing purchases and helping guests with questions about the resort. You’ll help keep transactions running smoothly while creating a welcoming experience for everyone you meet.

• Welcome and connect with every guest.
• Sell food, beverages, and other items.
• Accurately process cash, checks, guest checks, and other transactions.
• Operate the cash register while following established cash-handling and control procedures.
• Reconcile cash and charges at the end of each shift.
• Answer general questions about Alyeska Resort.
• Provide friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced resort environment.
• Support the team with other duties as needed.

What We Need

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED), one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and complete basic calculations.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and workplace information.
• Friendly communication skills and a guest-focused attitude.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Food Handler Card within the introductory period.

What to Expect

• Work in a fast-paced, guest-facing resort environment.
• Spend much of your shift standing and interacting with guests.
• Frequently walk and occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
