Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
