Job summary

Goodwill Industries of southeastern Michigan is seeking a Cashier to greet customers, operate the POS accurately, and participate in Change Round Up to support our missions. The role includes assisting in training new team members and maintaining a clean sales floor.

Ideal candidates have excellent customer service, attention to detail, and cash handling experience, with flexibility for days, evenings, and weekends in a full-time setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Attention to detail.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Six months of cash handling experience preferred.
• Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers with enthusiasm
• Operate the POS to ensure accurate and efficient sales data, price, and information codes on merchandise
• Welcome customers to participate in a Change Round Up to the nearest dollar to further support our missions
• Respond to phone calls while offering world class customer service
• Assist in the training of new team members and cashiers
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe sales floor and return all unsold merchandise to the floor
