Job summary

Goodwill Industries is seeking a friendly Cashier to greet customers and operate the POS with accuracy. You will participate in a change‑round‑up program to support our mission and respond to phone inquiries with excellent service.

The role involves training new cashiers, maintaining a tidy sales floor, and handling merchandise efficiently. Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months of cash handling experience preferred.
• Prior retail experience is a plus.
• Willing to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers with enthusiasm.
• Operate the POS to ensure accurate data, pricing, and scanning of merchandise.
• Encourage customer participation in Change Round Up to support missions.
• Answer phone calls while providing world‑class service.
• Assist in training new team members and cashiers.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and safe, and return unsold merchandise to the floor.

POSITION OUTLINE:

As a Cashier, you will:

• Greet and welcome customers with enthusiasm
• Operate the POS to ensure accurate and efficient sales data, price, and information codes on merchandise
• Welcome customers to participate in a Change Round Up to the nearest dollar to further support our missions
• Respond to phone calls while offering world-class customer service
• Assist in the training of new team members and cashiers
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe sales floor and return all unsold merchandise to the floor
