Job summary

Excelsia AMM in Warminster Township is looking for a detail-oriented candidate to manage checks and EOBs in the billing department. The role involves entering information into spreadsheets, reconciling transactions, and coordinating with insurance companies.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process checks and EOBs from incoming mail.
• Post payments to accounts in billing software as per EOBs.
• Reconcile checks and payments at the end of each shift.

Job description

Pay range is $18-22 depending on experience.

Job Duties

• Receive paper checks and EOBs from incoming mail.
• Enter the check information on the spreadsheet to be deposited to the bank account.
• Ensure that the total amount of checks received matches the total put on the spreadsheet.
• Receive the daily spreadsheet with paper checks for posting.
• Post the payment to the accounts in billing software according to the EOBs.
• At the end of the shift reconcile the checks posted with total amount posted to all accounts.
• Create a file of posted checks and EOBs to be scanned and stored in the document storage system.
• Other duties as assigned.
• EFT Payments
  • Receive spreadsheet with the EFT payments.
  • Retrieve EOBs from the web portals for each insurance carrier.
  • Post the payment to the accounts in billing software according to the EOBs.
  • At the end of the shift reconcile the payments posted with total amount posted to all accounts.
  • Create a file of posted payments and EOBs to be scanned and stored in the document storage system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in 3 rd party billing / AR, or medical billing/coding certification
• Must have computer knowledge and accurate keyboard skills.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of insurance billing and collection procedures.
• Ability to utilize multi-line phones and carry out basic computer tasks.
• Ability to form interpersonal relationships (i.e. establish rapport with others)
• Ability to manage time effectively by setting priorities.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
