Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Cash Posting Specialist I to manage daily insurance remittance postings, patient and third-party payments, and related adjustments.

The role supports accurate posting, reconciliation, and journal entries to ensure precise receivables reporting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in EPIC, have strong Excel skills, and experience with bank reconciliations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 2–3 years related experience.
• Solid knowledge of Excel, including linking and formulas.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Knowledge of bank reconciliation and accounts receivable processes.

Responsibilities

• Apply payments received electronically or in hard copy daily to the correct patient accounts.
• Reconcile lock box, EFTs, and credit card postings in the practice management system.
• Prepare journal entries for patient accounts receivables with supporting documentation.
• Correct contractual adjustments using managed care terms and government rules.
• Verify and apply credit card transactions to reconcile monthly statements and follow up on remaining balances.
