Job summary

Make Choteau Home is seeking an Accounting Intern in Butte, Montana to support daily operations focused on customer payment processing and cash reconciliations. The intern will work closely with teams across Accounting and Finance, gaining hands-on experience with reconciliation processes while developing strong Excel skills.

The ideal candidate is pursuing an Accounting or Finance major, has strong attention to detail, and ideally has experience with ERP systems like SAP.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals).
• Must be in good academic standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily bank reconciliations and cash activity review.
• Partner with teams to ensure accurate cash deposit recordings.
• Research and ensure correct application of non-utility bill payments.
• Prepare documentation and follow up on variances.
• Build and update reconciliation schedules using Excel.
• Participate in team meetings and seek guidance.
• Maintain attendance consistent with company standards.
