Job summary

Commando is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Finance team in Vermont. The internship provides hands-on experience with accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

You'll work alongside experienced accounting professionals and gain practical knowledge while supporting day-to-day operations. Internship period runs January 2027 through March 2027, with a pay rate of $17.50 per hour and an opportunity for an early start date to support

Responsibilities

• Apply and post customer payments, credits, and daily accounting transactions.
• Partner with Receiving and Supply Chain teams to reconcile invoices, packing lists, and ERP data.
• Assist in reviewing and resolving sales tax discrepancies.
• Support the import and maintenance of wholesale sales data in Avalara.
• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries, including depreciation and prepaid expenses.
• Participate in month-end close activities by conducting research, preparing reports, and supporting financial reconciliations.
• Monitor and respond to finance department email inquiries.
• Assist with annual 1099 preparation and external audit support.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to support accounting and business operations.
• Contribute to process improvements and other special projects as assigned.
