Job summary

North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking an Accountant I to join the Budget and Finance Office. The role focuses on cash management, NCFS and Core Banking systems, and the preparation of federal components of the ACFR, with supervision of three accounting technicians.

You will ensure timely processing of receipts and expenditures, oversee transfers, and support month-end closing in accordance with cash management policies. Hybrid work arrangement in Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 18 semester hours of accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supervising staff and managing cash processes.
• Experience with NCFS, Core Banking, and IBIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cash management process and supervise staff.
• Create and approve intercompany transfers.
• Verify availability of funds and process manual fund requisitions.
• Reconcile budget codes to ensure timely month-end close.
• Support processing of federal funds and preparation of the ACFR.
