Summary of Job Duties:
The Cash/Investment Management Specialist is responsible for daily monitoring and reconciling of multiple ledger and bank accounts. This position also balances all payment card activities on campus and records as well as assesses credit card and related merchant fees. Additionally, the specialist processes stop payments with the bank and oversees daily error resolution and check clearing processes. The role includes reviewing banking information for international suppliers and processing wire transfers. Other special projects may be assigned as needed.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in general business, finance, or a related field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • At least two years of accounting/bookkeeping experience

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access (Finalist will be required to complete testing)

  • Higher education work experience in a non-student position

  • Banking experience


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and database management

  • Knowledge of software applications

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies of assigned section

  • Knowledge of customer service techniques

  • Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business-related documents

  • Ability to apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations associated with assigned department or program

  • Ability to conduct research, perform quantitative quality assurance reviews, and prepare reports

  • Employee needs to be able to communicate using clear communication skills which could include but not be limited to the following methods: personal face-to-face contact; using e-mail or other written correspondence; and through telephone contact; effective communication in virtual meeting environments
