Job summary

Nextera Search in New York City is seeking an experienced Equities Trading Assistant to join our client’s operations team. The role focuses on post-trade processing across equity products and maintaining accurate records.

You will monitor transactions, resolve discrepancies, collaborate with internal departments and external vendors, and support system enhancements while contributing to efficiency and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in financial services operations, middle office, trade support, or a related function.
• General understanding of transaction processing and post-trade operations.
• Experience working with internal business teams and external service providers.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support post-trade processing across a range of financial products.
• Monitor transaction activity to ensure information is accurately recorded and processed.
• Investigate and resolve operational discrepancies, exceptions, and processing issues.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external service providers, and other business partners.
• Review transactions requiring additional analysis and help determine appropriate next steps.
• Escalate potential operational or regulatory concerns when necessary.
• Maintain effective controls and documentation across assigned workflows.
• Contribute to initiatives designed to improve efficiency, accuracy, and operational processes.
• Support system enhancements, testing, and other departmental projects as needed.
