Job summary

CRC Group in Birmingham, AL seeks an Accounting Operations Manager to oversee daily accounting processes, drive accuracy and efficiency, and mentor a team across AP, AR, and general ledger. You will lead month-end closes, ensure internal controls, and partner with auditors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with CPA preferred. Strong communication and process-improvement skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required; additional accounting or finance-related certifications are a plus.

This role manages a team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities while driving process improvements and adherence to internal controls.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. • Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Develop, implement, and monitor process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing direction, training, and performance management. • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and respond to inquiries. • Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses for management. • Maintain and enforce strong internal control environment to mitigate risks. • Collaborate across departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial activities.**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
