Job summary

Easterseals NH in Manchester, NH is seeking a Billing Associate to accurately apply daily receipts to client accounts and reconcile cash with the general ledger. You will investigate short payments and unapplied cash, while coordinating with billing and collections to clear items.

The role requires strong Excel skills, familiarity with EMR/ERP systems, and attention to detail. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; hours are 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or business management with 2 years healthcare billing OR HS diploma with 4–6 years healthcare billing experience.
• Understanding of AR cycle from revenue to cash application and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Excel and EMR/ERP systems (Allscripts, Aura, Workday) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Apply daily receipts to client accounts and reconcile cash balance to GL.
• Investigate short payments, deductions, unapplied cash, and missing remittance details; note deductions and write-offs for review.
• Collaborate with billing, collections, and customer service to clear outstanding items.
• Support cash forecasting and monitor cash flow; update procedures to ensure correct outcomes.
• Follow HIPAA regulations to protect patient billing information.

Associate’s degree in accounting or business management and two (2) years’ experience in healthcare billing OR High school degree and four to six (4-6) years’ experience in healthcare billing with emphasis on cash application functions Proven understanding of accounting cycle of accounts receivable, from generation and recording of revenues to collections, cash application and cash forecasting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and major EMR and ERP systems such as Allscripts, Aura and Workday preferred Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication Strong familiarity with medical terminology Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Essential Responsibilities

Perform timely and accurate application of daily receipts to client accounts and reconcile cash balance to general ledger account daily Investigate short payments, deductions, unapplied cash, and missing remittance details. Note patient deductions, co-insurance gaps, contractual write-offs, and insurance underpayments to senior billing staff to review. Work with the billing, collections, and customer service teams to clear outstanding items. Research issues impeding proper cash applications and developing appropriate resolutions. Support senior staff with cash forecasting and monitor cash flow for all assigned areas of responsibility. Continually review and update processing of areas of responsibilities to ensure that procedures generate appropriate outcomes. Follow HIPAA regulations and standard operating procedures to protect sensitive patient billing information.

Hours

Full Time, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Compensation

$22.50 hourly.
