Brilliant Financial Staffing is seeking a Cash Application Specialist for our client in Itasca, IL. The role handles high-volume cash receipts and accurate posting to ERP. It is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a pay rate of $25–$27 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities include processing daily cash receipts, reviewing numerous checks, and ensuring postings align with customer accounts. Strong Excel skills and detail-oriented work are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in cash applications or accounts receivable preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to pull and review reports.
• Ability to manage high-volume payment processing and review remittance details.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Motivated and reliable with a stable work history.
• Ability to work independently in a structured office environment.

Responsibilities

• Process approximately $1.5 million in cash receipts daily (checks, ACH/wire, cards).
• Review and post about 50 checks per day with 500–600 line items.
• Analyze remittance details and post payments in ERP accurately.
• Review discrepancies, short payments, and tax write-offs.
• Use Excel to pull reports and support accurate posting.
• Research and resolve cash application discrepancies and unapplied payments.
• Maintain accurate cash receipt records and apply payments to customer accounts.
• Work independently to manage daily cash application tasks for roughly $50M monthly collections.
