The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a County Caseworker 1 for the Intellectual/Developmental Services Program in Northumberland County. You will help individuals access services, develop life skills, and stay on track with personal goals to promote stability and confidence.

Responsibilities include gathering information, guiding treatment options, coordinating plans, assisting with benefits, and crisis response. This is a full-time role with standard daytime hours and no telework option.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• A bachelor's degree which includes, or is supplemented by, 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 college credits in social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or similar paraprofessional case management role.

Responsabilités

• Plan Development: Prepare individualized service plans describing goals and needed services.
• Benefit Assistance: Help individuals complete applications for available benefit programs.
• Progress Coordination: Lead meetings reviewing consumer advancement in charted goal areas.
• Supportive Services: Arrange community-based supports like budgeting guidance, social skill development, daily living assistance.
• Documentation Management: Maintain records and files supporting continuity of care and advocacy.
• Crisis Response: Provide immediate assistance during emergencies as directed by supervisors.

Formation

Two years experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Bachelor's degree including/supplemented by 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 credits in social sciences and one year as County Social Services Aide 3
