Job summary

The Salvation Army in Grand Island, NE seeks a Full-Time Social Services Assistant (35 hours/week) with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. You will assist clients with intake, develop case plans, counsel on resources, coordinate Pathway of Hope services, and maintain detailed case files.

Travel and driving are required as part of outreach and community events. Required is a High School Diploma or GED; a preferred Associate's degree in human services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred associate's degree in human services field.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use web-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake interviews and assess client need for services.
• Develop case plans and monitor progress toward objectives.
• Counsel clients on resources, barriers, and confidentiality.
• Plan and facilitate weekly social service team meetings.
• Maintain confidential case files and referrals.
• Enroll clients in Pathway of Hope and coordinate case management.
• Complete Salvation Army Case Management Certification.
• Utilize Service Point and SIMS for client data.
• Prepare reports for grants and other requirements.
• Maintain inventory and participate in community events.
• Make referrals for unavailable services and represent the agency.
