Akima Global Services (AGS) is looking for Case Processing Specialists for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Arizona detention facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to ICE immigration officials processing immigration cases and performing all peripheral activities, records management, and document preparation.
  • Prepare, review, and manage case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation.
  • Ensure Alien Files (A-files) and ICE systems reflect a case status that is updated, accurate, and complete.
  • Accurately enter data into ICE systems, ensuring compliance with agency protocols and data integrity requirements.
  • Maintain and update electronic and paper‑based case files, ensuring compliance with federal privacy laws, DHS policies, and federal data security requirements.
  • Retrieve, compile, & organize county, state, and federal court records, conviction documents, and supporting case materials from multiple databases, and other government sources.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date case status records, court scheduling details, and case tracking logs.
  • Generate case status reports and monitoring dashboards.
  • Assist with docket coordination with EOIR and USCIS. Coordinate with ICE personnel to facilitate hearings, removals, and case updates.
  • Review appropriate paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure all administrative applications are reviewed, A-files are updated, and docket officers timely notified for appropriate law enforcement action.
  • Track compliance with release conditions and report violations, as applicable.
  • Assist ICE Office of Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA) in obtaining criminal history checks and other supporting documentation as needed prior to court.
  • Assist ICE personnel with scheduling and coordinating interviews between detainees and ICE officers, consulates, and legal representatives, as assigned.
Removal and Post Removal Management duties
  • Organize and prepare removal documents and coordinate with ICE personnel for scheduling removal and staging flights. Ensure all documentation is prepared and accurate.
  • Ensure detainees scheduled for removal have the necessary documentation in A-files per ICE instructions.
  • Ensure travel information, ICE Air scheduling and manifest(s) are completed, detention center release forms are prepared, and property inventories/receipts are ready on the scheduled time and day of departure.
  • Ensure detainees have the necessary legal paperwork, seven‑day supply of medications, property, and valuables before transfer or removal.
  • Collect, review for completeness and accuracy, and file signed Form I-205 Warrant of Removal/Deportation departure verifications in A-file.
  • Ensure case is closed in ICE data systems and file is transferred to the National Record Center for storage.
Other duties
  • Utilize translators or advanced translation software to communicate fluently in the detainee’s native language.
  • Provide other logistical and administrative support for ICE personnel as assigned.
  • Provide surge support after hours, including expanded breadth and depth of tasks, as required.
Qualifications
  • US citizen and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 3+ years experience in immigration case management support or related experience in social services/human services, prisoner and probation case management, healthcare case management, and/or other related industries.
  • Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record and good credit).
  • Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE Government clearance.
  • Ability to work on‑site with travel 25% of the time.
  • Pass all pre‑employment and random drug tests.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong English language speaking, reading, and writing skills. Bilingual in the Spanish language is preferred.
  • Possess strong writing skills with the ability to compose complex, detailed and comprehensive reports derived from multiple sources within strict time frames and with 100% accuracy.
  • Strong proven computer skills with ability to navigate multiple systems and databases to extract pertinent information and keep databases updated with accurate current case status and other information.
  • Strong critical thinking ability to analyze data and/or unique situations and make recommendations to ICE personnel.
  • Demonstrate strong empathy and compassion in a fast‑paced environment; with ability to build trust with vulnerable or stressed individuals.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adherence to all DHS ICE policies, procedures, directives, and standards.
  • Must be trustworthy, reliable, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles; with a cross cultural perspective.
  • Ability to tactfully and professionally communicate with the general public.
  • Ability to maintain poise and self‑control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress such as disturbances, altercations, fires, and building evacuations.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential information.
