The Salvation Army is seeking a full-time Social Services Specialist to help clients move toward self-sufficiency by assessing needs and connecting them with community resources.
Responsibilities include conducting interviews, documenting progress, maintaining client files, and ensuring a substance-free, safe environment. A Bachelor’s in Social Work and one year of case management are preferred, with First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Assist clients in finding community resources and services to meet their identified needs as they move towards self-sufficiency.
Education: Minimum Bachelor degree in Social Work from an accredited university or a related human service field of study; relevant experience in lieu of education requirement will be considered.
Experience: One year of case management experience
Certifications/Licenses: First Aid and CPR certification; if not certified, must be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire date
Supervisor Responsibility: None
Include speaking, hearing and vision; standing, bending, squatting and walking; sitting for extended periods of time; manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing materials up to 50 lbs.
Travel: None
Driving: May be required to transport clients to and from appointments and meetings
Work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some weekend and evening work
