Job summary

Seven Hills Foundation is seeking a Family Partner in Massachusetts to convert lived experience into supportive guidance for families navigating children's behavioral health needs.

You will work with families, clinicians, and care coordinators, offering peer support, resource navigation, and advocacy to help families access services, develop confidence, and participate in care planning decisions. This role centers on compassion, collaboration, and community empowerment.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child with emotional or behavioral needs.
• Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to navigate child-serving systems and advocate for families.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and practical guidance to parents and caregivers.
• Help families access resources across mental health, education, and child welfare.
• Collaborate with clinicians and care coordinators to coordinate wraparound services.
• Support families in developing advocacy and self-advocacy skills.
• Attend care planning meetings and other appointments to help families participate.
• Conduct outreach and build trust with diverse families.
• Maintain confidential, accurate documentation of services provided.

We’re looking for a Family Partner who brings lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs. In this role, you’ll use your own experience navigating child-serving systems to support other families, help caregivers access resources, and build the confidence to advocate for their children.

Working alongside clinicians, Intensive Care Coordinators, and other service providers, you’ll help families feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their child’s care journey. If you’re passionate about helping other caregivers navigate challenges and recognize their own strengths, this is an opportunity to turn personal experience into meaningful work.

What You’ll Do

• Support families through shared experience: Provide peer support, encouragement, and practical guidance to parents and caregivers navigating their child’s behavioral health needs.
• Help families navigate complex systems: Guide caregivers through mental health services, educational supports, juvenile justice, and child welfare systems.
• Collaborate with a care team: Partner with Intensive Care Coordinators, clinicians, and other providers to help families access coordinated, wraparound services.
• Build confidence and self-advocacy: Help caregivers identify family strengths, establish goals, and develop the skills to actively participate in decisions about their child’s care.
• Advocate alongside families: Attend Care Planning Team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other appointments to help caregivers understand their options and communicate their needs.
• Build meaningful connections: Conduct outreach, engage families, and provide home-based support to encourage participation and strengthen relationships.
• Maintain accurate documentation: Complete timely, confidential records of services, progress, and relevant changes in accordance with agency and state requirements.
• Continue growing professionally: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to strengthen your skills and effectiveness as a family advocate.
