Job summary

Family & Children’s Services is seeking a COPES Case Manager in Tulsa, OK. The role involves outreach, engagement and follow-up navigation for individuals in crisis, working with a multidisciplinary team to connect clients to essential services and supports.

The position requires a Bachelor's in social science, 6+ months with SMI clients and 2+ years in behavioral health. A valid Oklahoma driver license is required, with opportunities for professional development through CEUs.

  • Advocate for clients and assist accessing all levels of service delivery and community resources
  • Provide crisis services to divert individuals from inpatient hospitalization, jail, homelessness, or EDs

Community Outreach Psychiatric Emergency Services (COPES) is an elite and unique team dedicated to phone triage and field outreach for those in crisis in the Tulsa and surrounding areas. COPES Case Manager works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to outreach, engage and provide follow up service navigation for individuals that have been assessed by the Alternative Response Team (ART). COPES Case Manager provides client advocacy and assists individuals with accessing all levels of service delivery and community resources they need to recover. Case manager also provides a full range of crisis services which divert individuals experiencing a mental health crisis from inpatient hospitalization, jail, homelessness or emergency departments.
Case Manager Qualifications
  • 6+ months of experience working with SMI clients required*
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science field required for Case Management II certification or obtain CMII certification by taking the first available Case Management Certification course provided by ODMHSAS after hire.
  • Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person served to live in normal community residences; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous supports and services.
  • Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with mental illnesses and/or substance abuse issues and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office.
  • Must have 2 or more years of behavioral health experience as Case manager or other related role.
