Centre County Government is seeking a 911 Dispatcher Trainee - Public Safety Telecommunicator to coordinate emergency communications and support residents through the human services system.
The role involves case management, advocacy, and collaboration with local agencies, with an emphasis on serving individuals with mental health or developmental needs. Training hours and county support are provided.
Shift Available - Full - Time (Non-Exempt)
Office Hours: 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday (Actual work hours established by department to include unpaid lunch)
Budgeted Hours: 7.5 hours per day / 37.5 hours per week.
Summary of Job Functions:
Minimum Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a human service-related field and one to two (1-2) years of experience in the social service field. Background with human service programs and agencies in Centre County, PA. Experience providing services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, involved with Children & Youth, and/or individuals with physical disabilities who may also be of low income/limited resources and generational poverty. Understanding and experience working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a willingness to travel as needed.
