Job summary

Church World Service in the United States (Miami, FL) seeks a dedicated Case Manager to empower newcomers through comprehensive case management, resource linkage, and planning. The role involves coordinating with multiple providers, advocating for clients, and supporting resilience and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities include developing individualized plans, facilitating access to health services, and conducting progress assessments while traveling within the service area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth case management services to refugees, SIV holders, and other ORR-eligible newcomers.
  • Collaborate with program team to ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Develop individualized service plans and navigate resources to address barriers to resettlement and self-sufficiency.
  • Advocate for clients with local providers to strengthen referrals and access to services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with health and mental health providers to expand access to care.
  • Provide technical assistance and cultural competency trainings to service providers.
  • Develop tailored programming to support families facing unique resettlement challenges.
  • Conduct regular assessments and monitor client progress against goals and update plans as needed.
  • Organize workshops and group sessions on literacy, stress management, self-care, women’s health, and family well-being.
  • Ensure accurate case file documentation and data entry per requirements.
  • Travel regularly within service area for visits, meetings, and coordination.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and staff development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive case management services that empower newcomers to successfully integrate into their communities. By delivering individualized support, connecting clients to essential resources, andfacilitatingaccess to higher levels of care when needed, the Case Manager plays a critical role in helping refugees achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Build andmaintainrelationships with health and mental health providers to expand access and improve culturally responsive care for clients.
  • Provide technicalassistanceand cultural competency trainings to service providers to enhance their capacity to serve populations.
  • Explore and develop tailored programming and innovative opportunities to support families facing unique challenges in their resettlement journey.
  • Conduct regular assessments andmonitorclient progress to ensure goals are met, resources areutilizedeffectively, and service plans are updated as needed.
  • Organize workshops and group sessions for clients to promote stability, health, and wellness, with topics such as literacy, stress management, self-care, women’s health, and family well-being.
  • Ensureaccurateandtimelycase file documentation and data entryin accordance withprogram and compliance requirements.
  • Travel regularly within the service delivery area for home visits, agency meetings, and provider coordination.
  • Activelyparticipatein team meetings, training, and staff development activities to strengthen program delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3-4years’ experience working with refugees or immigrants, andpreviouscase management experience.

Other Skills:

  • Strongly preferred that candidates are bilingual in English and a refugee language.
  • The successful candidate must be computer literate, withproficiencyin MS Office Suite (Word and Excel) and internet applications.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills arerequired.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, including an ability to communicate in a trauma-informed, positive, caring, and professional manner,demonstratingrespect and empathy.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environmentrequired.

The job will require reference checks, standard criminal background checks, and motor vehicle background checks.
