The Case Management Assistant, under the direction of the Director of Case Management, assists in the administration of Case Management functions to include organization of work flow, communications, critical information tracking, and links with community resources.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of secretarial or administrative assistant experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a hospital or related setting preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge coursework or experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, including conflict resolution, problem solving and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, payers, patients and their families.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with third party payers to obtain authorization for the appropriate treatment.
• Must be proficient in required competencies upon completion of orientation and maintain annual departmental competency requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively regardless of social, economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Office skills including use of a PC, fax machine, copy machine, printer, multi-line phones.
• Microsoft office knowledge and competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administration of Case Management functions, including workflow organization, communications, information tracking, and links with community resources.
• Support the Case Management department in optimizing Care Management processes and Case Manager efficiency and effectiveness.
