Job summary

UNC Health Care in North Carolina is seeking a Case Management Assistant to support the Case Management department under the Director of Case Management. The role focuses on workflow organization, communications, information tracking and liaison with community resources to optimize care management.

Responsibilities include assisting with care management processes, improving case management efficiency, and maintaining accurate documentation while collaborating with physicians, payers, patients

Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge coursework or experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, including problem solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure due to changing priorities, interruptions, high/low census, payer demands and discharge planning demands.
• Ability to communicate with physicians, payers, patients and families.
• Maintains annual departmental competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administration of Case Management functions to include organization of work flow, communications, critical information tracking and links with community resources.
• Support the Care Management process and Case Manager efficiency and effectiveness.
• Coordinate communications with hospital staff, medical staff, community agencies and insurance companies to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
