DLA Piper is seeking a Case Assistant in Wilmington, Delaware. The role involves assisting paralegals and attorneys with case files, document preparation, and administrative tasks, enhancing support within a legal environment.
The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring 1 year of relevant experience and strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. As a key team member, you’ll be responsible for maintaining organized records and supporting legal processes effectively.
As the Case Assistant – Restructuring you will assist the paralegals and/or attorneys by maintaining case files, preparing documents for production, organizing and maintaining case or other files, updating and maintaining databases, preparing closing books, obtaining information for internal and external sources, and performing other administrative tasks.
This position is located in our Wilmington office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Demonstrated basic level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and database experience. Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients on a regular basis. Excellent organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letters, charts, etc. Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in‑office work, the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firm’s discretion in the future.
