Job summary

State of Iowa’s Department of Health and Human Services is hiring a Child & Family Services Case Aid for the Cedar Rapids Service Area based out of Ottumwa, IA. This full-time position supports ongoing family services, coordinating resources and mentoring families through the reunification process.

You’ll work closely with social workers, manage case details, and advocate for services, with potential telework after a six-month probation and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Social Work, Human Services, Case Management, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or Nursing; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with facilitating interactions between children and their parents.
• Supervise the interactions as directed by the assigned case manager.
• Transport children/parents to appointments to access the services needed.
• Provide support to placements to increase stability and resolve barriers.
• Meet with families to address issues and assist in problem resolution.
• Assist with Family Finding efforts locating relatives for placement.
• Audit cases to ensure required information is in the file.
• Organize and maintain files and maintain confidentiality.

Education

Associate/BA degree in Social Work or related field (or equivalent experience)
