Palace Entertainment is a leading leisure park operator in the United States and Australia overseeing more than 25 entertainment venues, hotels and educational venues across 11 different states.

A Dining Room Attendant is responsible for welcoming customers and ensuring they are seated and receive attentive service. The host is typically the “First Impression” for the restaurant, so the ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a passion for guest satisfaction.

We are currently looking for a: Cartoon Network Hotel Dining Room Attendant

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a strong rapport with guests by greeting them in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
  2. Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards
  3. Strictly abide by standards set forth by ServSafe, state and local regulations, company policy, and other food regulatory standards that may apply at the Cartoon Network Hotel.
  4. Understand and apply all health department standards
  5. Present menus to guests and inform them of specials and promotions
  6. Make suggestions based on your guests’ questions and concerns about the menu
  7. Develop strong knowledge of each menu item, including capabilities of adapting dishes for guest requests and/or food allergies.
  8. Check guest identification when necessary to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  9. Take guest orders and accurately communicate them to the kitchen
  10. Serve all food and beverages in a friendly and timely manner
  11. Check back frequently with guests to ensure all needs and expectations are being met
  12. Present the guest with their check and process their payment by using Point-of-Sale (POS) system for check processing
  13. Remove soiled dishes and glasses from tables and counters and take them to the kitchen for washing
  14. Stock and clean service areas and tables, as needed
  15. Assist with rolling silverware and stocking server stations with supplies, whenever needed
  16. Replenish salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and all other condiments
  17. Escalate safety, hygienic, or maintenance issues to the proper authorities in a timely manner
  18. Promptly notify the security team or the manager of team member and guest injuries or emergencies
  19. All other duties assigned by leadership

Education and Experience:

  1. No education requirements for this position
  2. Three or more months restaurant experience preferred but not required
  3. Must be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so within 90 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.

Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor Laws
  2. Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  3. Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
  4. Ability to comply with all uniform policies
  5. Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
  6. Ability to interact with current and prospective guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner
  7. Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction
  8. Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
  9. Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
  2. Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
  3. Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 20 pounds or more

Working Conditions:

  1. This role will predominantly be based in an indoor restaurant setting
  2. Potential to be asked to work in other indoor or outdoor areas of the park, as needed
  3. Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
  4. Subject to the handling of and exposure to oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners (age restrictions apply)
  5. Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environments
