Job summary

Priority Waste Resources is seeking a Container Delivery Driver in Romulus, MI. You will pick up and drop off containers, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and ensure safety and compliance with OSHA/DOT standards.

This role requires a valid Chauffeur's License, ability to work 10–12 hour shifts (some Saturdays), and good communication with customers and dispatch. Experience with tablet work orders is preferred; training is provided, and you will join a growing waste services team committed to

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Chauffer's License.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, including some Saturdays.
• Ability to use a tablet to receive work orders.
• Must pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen.
• Must have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years.
• Must communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and internal customer service.
• Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smell.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• May be required to work in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day
• Operate a Moffett (forklift) to load and unload containers
• Completes assigned residential route daily, leaving the customer’s location free of debris
• Communicates with customers as needed
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or incidents
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of service interruptions such as closed lots or safety hazards
• Identifies and reports containers in need of repair/replacement
• Attends training programs and meetings as required
• Communicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch
• Communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor
• Maintains cleanliness and professional appearance of vehicle

Job Purpose

In your role as a Container Delivery Driver you will be picking up and delivering varying sizes of containers to different customers accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day
• Operate a Moffett (forklift truck) to load and unload containers
