Job summary

Priority Waste Resources LLC in Auburn Hills, MI seeks a Container Delivery Driver to pick up and deliver containers to customer accounts, ensuring safe operation and timely service.

You will perform pre/post trip inspections, communicate with customers, and comply with OSHA/DOT regulations while maintaining a professional appearance and clean vehicle. Role requires 10-12 hour shifts and the ability to handle heavy loads with safe driving records.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Chauffer's License.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, including some Saturdays.
• Ability to use a tablet to receive work orders.
• Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen.
• Must have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years.
• Must have ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and internal customer service.
• Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smell.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• May be required to work in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Pre and post trip inspections of the truck.
• Operate truck in compliance with OSHA and DOT, and all laws.
• Mounts and dismounts heavy-duty truck multiple times daily.
• Load and unload containers using a Moffett forklift.
• Complete residential routes daily and keep customer sites clean.
• Communicate with customers professionally as needed.
• Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of incidents or service interruptions.
• Report containers needing repair or replacement.
• Attend training programs and meetings as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and professional appearance.

Job Purpose

In your role as a Container Delivery Driver you will be picking up and delivering varying sizes of containers to different customers accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day
• Operate a Moffett (forklift truck) to load and unload containers
• Completes assigned residential route daily, leaving the customer’s location free of debris
• Professionally communicates with customers as needed
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards etc
• Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair/replacement
• Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as required
• Communicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch
• Immediately communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
• Maintains professional appearance
