Job summary

Priority Waste is seeking a Roll Off Truck Driver to operate a roll off truck and associated equipment on assigned routes in Michigan. You will haul solid waste and recycling debris from industrial, commercial and residential customers, while maintaining safety and professionalism.

The role requires a valid CDL (Class A or B), 1-2+ years of roll off experience, and a clean driving record. You will follow OSHA/DOT guidelines, communicate with customers, and help keep the vehicle in top condition.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• 1-2+ years experience operating a roll off truck.
• 1-year experience in solid waste industry preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen.
• Must have safe driving record with no avoidable accidents in past five years.
• Must communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and internal teams.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• May be required to work in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post-trip inspections of the truck.
• Operate truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements and all laws.
• Mount and dismount a heavy-duty truck multiple times per day.
• Complete assigned route daily, leaving clients' locations clean.
• Communicate with customers as needed.
• Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Route Manager/Dispatch of service interruptions or hazards.
• Identify and report all containers needing repair or replacement.
• Attend training, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Communicate customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch.
• Immediately report mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and professional appearance.

Job Purpose

In your role as a Roll Off Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a roll off truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to haul solid waste/recycling debris from large, high volume industrial/construction customers, as well as residential and commercial customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day
• Completes assigned route daily, leaving the customers' location free of debris
• Professionally communicates with customers as needed
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards etc
• Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair/replacement
• Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as required
• Communicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch
• Immediately communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
• Maintains professional appearance
