Job summary

The City of Arlington seeks a Cart Maintenance worker to perform preventive maintenance on golf carts, ensure availability for rental, and perform clubhouse janitorial duties under supervision.

You will change flats, check batteries, clean carts, inspect for damage, document maintenance, and handle cart transportation to/from the clubhouse. A High School Diploma or GED and at least six months of related experience, plus a Texas driver’s license, are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus six months of related experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License, Class C.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on carts such as changing flats, checking batteries for water and cleaning carts.
• Maintain necessary records on maintenance performed.
• Clean carts following each use and make daily inspections of carts for damage.
• Drive carts to the clubhouse for rental and return them to the cart garage for night storage.

Job Summary

Under immediate supervision, the employee performs preventative maintenance on carts and ensures carts are available for rental. The employee also performs janitorial duties in the clubhouse as directed.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform preventative maintenance on carts such as changing flats, checking batteries for water and cleaning carts
• Maintain necessary records on maintenance performed
• Clean carts following each use and make daily inspections of carts for damage
• Drive carts to the clubhouse for rental and return them to the cart garage for night storage

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic electricity
• Knowledge of small engines
• Skill in communicating with other city employees and the public
• Skill in performing routine custodial duties
• Ability to follow specific oral instructions
• Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including carrying, cleaning, kneeling, lifting, seeing, and walking
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment including golf carts, air compressors, hand tools, power tools, and vacuum cleaners
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push/pull 25 pounds for 5 feet
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle
• Exposure to mechanical, electrical, explosive, fume/odor, dust/mites, and chemical hazards
• High School Diploma or GED, plus a minimum of six (6) months related experience
• Valid Texas Driver’s License, Class C
