THE PERSON WE’R LOOKING FOR
We’re specifically interested in a Carrier Sales Rep who has moved freight for Sysco.
You should have experience with:
- Freight brokerage and/or carrier sales
- Sourcing and negotiating truck capacity
- Spot and lane-rate negotiations
- High-volume transactional freight
- Working with customer-facing sales and operations teams
- Managing pickup and delivery expectations
- Understanding freight lanes, geography, capacity, and seasonality
- Working in a TMS/CRM environment
- Meeting and exceeding KPIs
Sysco freight experience is a must and major focus of this search.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and grow a carrier network and book of business
- Source equipment based on customer volume and lane requirements
- Manage daily shipments from booking through delivery
- Work with internal sales and operations teams on pricing and capacity
- Identify and resolve transportation problems quickly
- Maintain strong knowledge of lanes, geography, market conditions, and seasonality
- Handle same-day and time-sensitive freight
- Take ownership of critical loads and customers
- Properly qualify carriers to minimize service failures
- Communicate load details and changes to drivers and internal teams
- Provide timely load updates to the appropriate departments
- Maintain accurate carrier information and records
- Meet or exceed department KPIs and performance goals
- Take responsibility for providing exceptional service on every load
WHAT YOU BRING
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1–3+ years of logistics experience
- Freight brokerage or carrier sales experience required
- Experience moving Sysco freight strongly preferred
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Professional, honest, and dependable approach
- Strong work ethic
- Experience with TMS/CRM platforms
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when business demands require it, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
