J.B. Hunt is seeking a Capacity Procurement Representative in Akron, OH, to negotiate rates with carriers and optimize margins.

You will market the Carrier360 platform, establish and manage a carrier base, and ensure timely freight coverage with best-in-class service execution. The role requires strong communication, relationship-building, and multitasking abilities, with readiness to work varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with up to 1 year in transportation/logistics or related field.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Experience in Microsoft Office and logistics software tools.
• Willingness to work nights/weekends and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate carrier rates to meet revenue and margin goals.
• Act as liaison between internal teams and carriers for timely freight movement.
• Manage freight in transit; obtain carrier updates and monitor on-time pickup/delivery.
• Utilize Carrier360 to tender loads and maintain shipment records; communicate service issues.
