Job summary

University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for UVMMC - Medical Center - Main Campus in Burlington, VT. You will join the Carpentry team to maintain patient rooms, corridors, labs, and support spaces, ensuring a safe, functional environment for daily patient care.

You’ll handle doors, hardware, walls, ceilings, casework and finishes, collaborating with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in carpentry or related building trades.
• Experience in commercial or institutional maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and plan repairs independently within healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on doors, walls, ceilings, and related components throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and complete repairs to support patient care and operations.
• Respond to service requests promptly while minimizing disruption to care.
• Document completed work and maintain tools and work areas safely.
