J.F. Ingram State Technical College seeks a full-time Career/Technical Instructor to teach students in a trade program under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Instruction and Dean of Instruction.

The role includes preparing practical and technical instruction, demonstrations, and safety training. The instructor will organize programs, supervise students, evaluate performance, maintain records, assist in job placement, and advise students.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in subject areas such as mathematics, communication skills, work habits, use and maintenance of tools and equipment, codes or regulations related to trade, and safety precautions.
  • Plans and supervises the work of students, individually or in small groups, in-shop or laboratory.
  • Test and evaluate student achievement in technical knowledge and trade skills.
  • Maintains all records and provides reports as directed by the Dean of Instruction or his designee.
  • Assists in job placement for graduates.
  • Serves as an advisor for all students enrolled in the occupational program.
  • Keep up-to-date with teaching methodology, occupational information, and technology through professional development activities.
  • Must be eligible to enter any/all Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities to perform the job duties and maintain this status for continued employment.

Job description

The Career/Technical Instructor is a full-time position teaching students a career/technical trade while performing all duties under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Instruction and Dean of Instruction. Salary Range

Salary will be determined by placement on the appropriate Alabama Community College System-approved salary schedule. D2 $41,290- $83,912 for a nine-month contract; summer employment may be available dependent on enrollment. D2 $16,023 - $32,609 for a three-month contract.
