Job summary

North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II (S) for Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner, NC. The role focuses on building maintenance, renovations, and facility infrastructure across a 600,000 sq ft campus.

Responsibilities include material requisition, project management, and construction of repairs while using hand and power tools and heavy equipment. A valid driver’s license and EPA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of progressive experience in the trade or an equivalent combination.
• EPA certification may be required (Type I/II/III or Universal).
• Valid Driver's License and ability to operate hand/power tools and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, renovate, and manage 600,000 square feet of building space.
• Procure materials, manage projects, and construct new structures as needed.
• Install doors/locks, cabinetry, furniture, and tile work; perform repairs and fabrication.
