Job summary

The Division of Administration/Office of State Buildings is seeking a qualified professional to oversee maintenance, construction, and renovation of state-owned facilities in Louisiana, including supervision of architectural items and contract administration with outside contractors.

Ideal candidates will have carpentry experience and several years of building maintenance exposure, along with strong safety leadership and communication skills to coordinate across regional divisions and management

Qualifications

• Four years of experience or training in carpentry.
• Experience assisting in building maintenance and renovation.
• Ability to administer contracts and supervise repairs and renovations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managerial functions related to building maintenance, construction, and renovation of OSB state-owned buildings.
• Assist in administration of contracts for construction and maintenance to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Oversee repair, alteration, or maintenance of architectural items in OSB buildings.
• Inspect buildings to determine materials and time required for repairs or construction.
• Maintain communications with Facility Maintenance Manager regarding issues and long-range planning.
• Conduct safety meetings to ensure compliance with safety rules.
