Qualifications

Building Maintenance Technician (Carpentry)

Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dependable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician with carpentry experience to assist with the maintenance, repair, and improvement of city-owned properties and municipal buildings. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and can work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for full-time city employment and excellent benefits upon permanent hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry repairs and maintenance on city buildings and facilities
• Repair doors, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, and trim
• Install and replace fixtures, hardware, and building materials
• Assist with remodeling, renovation, and improvement projectsConduct routine inspections and identify maintenance needs
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and organized condition
• Follow all safety procedures, policies, and city regulations
• Perform other maintenance and facility‑related duties as assigned
