POSITION DESCRIPTION
Brockton Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and dependable Carpentry Program Classroom Assistant to support the Brockton High School Carpentry Program. The Classroom Assistant will work closely with carpentry classroom teachers to provide students with a safe, clean, organized, and engaging hands‑on learning environment.
The successful candidate will have basic carpentry and/or construction experience and will work alongside carpentry teachers to support daily classroom activities, student skill development, classroom safety, and the organization and maintenance of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
The ideal candidate will be a dependable, safety‑conscious, organized, and hands‑on professional who enjoys working with students and has an interest in carpentry, construction, or the skilled trades. The candidate should be comfortable working in a shop environment and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Professional experience in carpentry, construction, woodworking, remodeling, building trades, or a related field is highly valued. Experience training, mentoring, supervising, or working with high school students is preferred but not required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and positive learning environment while supporting students in developing practical skills and an understanding of workplace expectations.
