Job summary

Next 150 Construction Services seeks a Carpenter Journeyman for basic installation duties on construction sites. You will install safety rails, decking for trailers, and temporary structures, and mount equipment in job-site trailers.

The role requires teamwork and the ability to work in challenging weather conditions. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of carpentry experience, and OSHA 10 hour certification recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 2+ years of carpentry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OSHA 10 hour certification recommended; Next 150 Construction will assist with obtaining this certification if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Install safety-related items and protective structures at the job site (safety rails, toe boards, ramps, temporary walls, enclosures, elevator protection).
• Mount and hang items in job site trailers, including Smartboards, TVs, and shelving.
• Build planning tables and assist with job site layouts.
• Hanging safety signs and covering holes or hazards to prevent injuries.
• Report safety incidents and injuries to Foreperson and Safety Leader.
• Adhere to scope of work and obtain approval for tasks outside listed duties.

Overview

ACarpenter Journeyman performs basic installation of materials on a construction sites.

Responsibilities

Carpenter Journeymen typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Install items related to job site safety and functionality including safety rails, toe boards, ramps, temporary walls, temporary enclosures, elevator protection, decks for construction trailers
• Build planning tables
• Hang safety signs
• Cover holes or open areas that are safety hazards
• Mount Smartboards and TVs in job site trailers
• Hang shelving in job site trailers
• Reporting all safety incidents & injuries to Foreperson and Safety Leader
• Any scope of work outside of they above listed, shall be planned, documented, and approved by Foreperson, Safety & Management

Experience/Education

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of carpentry experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• OSHA 10 hour certified recommended, (Next 150 Construction will assist with obtaining this certification if necessary)
• Proof of certificates, degrees, etc. upon hire

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
• Willingness to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
• Ability to work in a team environment
