Job summary

Hy-Vee Construction is seeking a Carpenter II to join the Field Operations team. The role involves completing commercial buildouts including framing, drywall, ceilings, painting and millwork, and installing store fixtures with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Travel is extensive, Monday through Thursday, with supervision from a Team Leader. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and 1–2 years in the field, valid driver’s license and DOT certification, and solid skills in hand

Responsibilities

• Complete commercial buildouts including framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, painting, millwork installation, and décor installation.
• Assemble and install store fixtures.
• Initiate work with minimal direction.
• Know which tools are needed for each task.
• Maintain professional conduct and safety standards.
• Follow dress code and health and safety procedures; use PPE.
• Maintain good housekeeping and punctuality.
• Set a positive example for team members.

General Function

Completes assigned tasks with Minimal Guidance from Team Leader. Helps
Team Leader Mentor Carpenter I-II, Shows initiative to Prepare Execute Weekly
Paperwork. Proficient understanding of what it takes to complete All Scope,
with Minimal Team Leader Supervision. Extensive Travel, Weekly, Monday through Thursday.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completes commercial Buildout’s( Framing, Drywall, Acoustical Ceiling’s, Painting, Millwork installation, Décor Installation)
• Assembles and Installs store fixtures
• Initiates work to be performed Without Direction
• Knowledgeable to what tools needed to complete all tasks

Equipment used to perform Job:

Skilled with a Variety of hand tools, Table Saw, Skill Saw, Miter Saw, Tape Measure, Cordless Power Tools, Electric/Hydro Scissor lifts. Perform Work from Ladders 4’ to 10’ Manuel and Electric Pallet Jack. Adjustable 6’ Scaffold on wheels.
