Job summary

RedStone Construction Group is seeking a carpenter/handyman to support maintenance tasks for our Little Rock, Arkansas sites. You will perform repairs, install and service basic systems, and ensure safety compliance on a full-time, hourly basis.

The role requires a strong problem-solver with good communication and organizational skills, able to work outdoors in varied weather and lift heavy materials as needed.

Qualifications

• Jack-of-all-trades with maintenance knowledge.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and have acceptable MVR.
• Experience with routine facility upkeep and basic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance around the building including repairs to windows, doors, walls, and masonry.
• Repair plumbing leaks and restore water fixtures to full operation.
• Address drainage issues and basic plumbing problems.
• Carry out carpentry repairs and upgrades as needed.
• Assist with electrical wiring issues and safety precautions.
• Maintain HVAC equipment for proper climate control and energy efficiency.
• Apply preventative measures to reduce future problems, including roof sealant.
• Identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Paint exterior and interior surfaces as required.
• Troubleshoot and determine necessary repairs.
• Replace light bulbs and change air filters as part of routine upkeep.

We are currently accepting applications for a Carpenter/Handyman. Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

This is a Safety Sensitive position. Must have an acceptable MVR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door/wall repair, & masonry repairs.
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
• Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage issues.
• Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs and upgrades.
• Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
• Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
• Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
• Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs & changing air filters.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to perform strenuous tasks with your hands.
• Experience using hand tools and electrical tools.
• Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials.
• Ability to measure accurately and read specifications.
• Plumbing, carpentry or electrical certifications preferred but not required.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
• PPE must comply with site specific requirements.
• Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
• The work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that are typically associated with a construction project.
• Employees regularly work near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
• Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly

Compensation:

• Starting at $19 - $23 per hour, DOE.
