Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking an entry-level Carpenter to perform maintenance and construction on City facilities, keeping buildings and spaces in good repair.

You will assist with carpentry tasks from framing and doors to fencing and concrete work, read blueprints, operate power tools, and support the crew under the supervisor. Qualifications

• 1 year of carpentry/construction experience.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Some positions may require ability to obtain Texas Class A CDL within probationary period.
• Overtime work and inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in carpentry work with crew chief on wood structures and equipment.
• Repair doors, frames, locks, masonry, tile, modular furniture, and rest room partitions.
• Install and repair chain link fences and monitor park structures.
• Assist with cabinetmaking, woodwork, and drywall as needed.
• Construct barricades for traffic control at public events and perform concrete work.
• Read floorplans and measure jobs; read and follow instructions.
